First presented at a solo exhibition at Future Gallery, Berlin, with a live performance by Macedonian psytrance producer Goch, Terbium orchestrates a dynamic convergence of primal materials, speculative mysticism, and digital resonance. This series of unique posters captures distinct facets of the sculptural system, each a singular node radiating the work’s exploration of energy, consciousness, and global material networks. Terbium, the rare earth element, is both a luminescent catalyst in technology and a metaphor for elusive energies pulsing through contested supply chains. Terbium asks: what emerges when the vibrations of a mineral’s essence—channeled through psytrance, shamanic talismans, and homeopathic principles—form a sculptural system? The work speculates on futures where energy is not merely mined but invoked, where matter and consciousness entangle across distributed networks, extending beyond the gallery into digital and migratory realms. At its core, Terbium’s nucleus—a Mud Owl hand-sculpted from Bridgewater Bay mud, enthroned in a 3D-printed Nest, crowned by a Red Lizard Mustika pearl, and animated by Goch’s Terbium Energy Catalyst track and its remixes played through a Vibe-Tribe speaker—functions as a chaos-engine, a gravitational hub for emergent relationships. The Terbium Dark Psy Energy Pack extends this system, enabling activators to 3D-print the Nest and attach it to a Camelbak hydration pack, creating portable nodes in a decentralized sculptural network. Each poster in this series highlights a unique perspective of this system—some foregrounding the Mud Owl’s earthy tactility, others the Mustika pearl’s esoteric aura, or the sonic vibrations of Goch’s track—yet all are unified by the sculpture’s networked logic. Terbium envisions three flickering futures within its resonant field: 1. Harmonic Resonance: Psytrance and mystical objects become tools for collective consciousness, reorienting resource extraction toward energetic and spiritual sufficiency. 2. Networked Ecologies: Materials like mud and shamanic pearls gain agency, forming new systems where human and non-human actors co-create meaning in a post-materialist world. 3. Dark Psy Entropy: The system’s vibrations fracture, scattering into a web of depleted energies and strained global supply chains. Each 1-of-1 NFT poster in this series is a canonical artifact, not mere documentation but an operative fragment of the Terbium system. Preserved on-chain, these posters hum with the sculpture’s speculative energy, from the Mud Owl’s grounded presence to the Mustika pearl’s mystical ambiguity and Goch’s pulsating sonic catalyst. Collectors hold unique nodes in the ENERGY⋮PANGEA ecology, each poster propagating meaning across time, networks, and futures. / ENERGY⋮PANGEA (2010–2019) is an evolving artwork-as-system by Iain Ball, reconfiguring sculpture into networks of objects, environments, and psyche. Developed through the unfinished Rare Earth cycle, it probes resource extraction (on/off-world), supply chains, techno-dependence, geopolitics, altered states, UFO speculation, and the entanglement of New-Age mysticism with consumer capitalism. This contract preserves the surviving works and archives as authenticated on-chain artifacts—1/1s, series, and editions—each a live node in the ENERGY⋮PANGEA ecology. Provenance, royalties, and metadata are enforced at the protocol level, securing a historically significant post-materialist project and enabling collectors to hold operative fragments that continue to propagate meaning across time and networks. / The Rare Earth Sculpture Project (2011– ) forms the core of ENERGY⋮PANGEA, where each element anchors a sculptural system interweaving objects, sound, text, and environment.
