In 196 BCE, African priests in Memphis inscribed a decree in three scripts — hieroglyphics first, demotic second, Greek third. Greek last, because the occupiers needed a translation. The Rosetta Stone was found in Rosetta, 200 miles from where it was written. African authors. Always.
In 1452, a pope issued Dum Diversas — permission to seize Africa and her people. By 1798, they stopped needing the pope. Napoleon invaded Egypt with 36,000 soldiers and 150 scholars — not because Egypt had wronged France, but because Napoleon said: "To destroy England truly, we shall have to capture Egypt." Egypt was not the prize. Egypt was the pawn. A civilization that gave the world mathematics, medicine, and the Rosetta Stone itself — reduced to a square on someone else's board.
One of Napoleon's own scholars described the Sphinx as having features that were — his words — "typically negro in all its features." They saw it. Then spent 200 years pretending they hadn't.
France "discovered" the stone. Britain took it when they defeated France in 1801. Neither owned it. African land and African artifacts were collateral in a European power struggle — spoils claimed by whoever won that day's battle.
The Rosetta Stone has been in London since 1802. Egypt is still asking for it back. The Berlin Conference of 1884 formalized what Napoleon had already practiced — dividing Africa among European powers without a single African present. The method was always the same. Only the paperwork changed.
On March 25, 2026, 123 nations declared the Transatlantic Slave Trade the gravest crime against humanity. The resolution is non-binding. But sovereignty doesn't wait for permission. The Global Reparations DAO exists to turn a non-binding resolution into a living reality — built on self-sovereignty and self-determination, one block at a time.
Dominion was always the point. Now it's ours.
