Most people chose convenience and willingly offloaded the responsibility of security. The technology proliferated and its use-case expanded beyond its original scope, embedding itself deeper and deeper into the fabric of everyday life. Now, everyone is surveilled by default and the right to selectively reveal oneself is a luxury reserved for those who control the systems. Resourceful goools, however, use techniques such as asymmetrical makeup and hairstyles, fashion accessories and masking, and holographic avatar projections to jam the detection tech when entering surveillance zones. This keeps out the intrusive advertisers, personal data miners, or, very likely, something much worse. For now.
