This is Japanese traditional color called "Aka".
One of the three primary colors of light, also used as a generic term for reddish colors.
The word Red is derived from "akashi 明し", meaning "bright". And it is paired with Black (from the word "kurashi 暗し", meaning "dark").
The Chinese character "Red 赤" is a combination of the characters "Big 大" and "Fire 火", and it represents "the color of a large burning fire".
