Fog covers all, in these timbers so tall,
Blue gums stand as nature marches to its own drums,
As a blue haze drifts upon our gaze, before the sun rises to set the place ablaze.
In the cold before sunrise, I am standing next to my warm, safe haven of a vehicle. I am on a dirt road out of town and surrounded by tall, straight blue gums.
The whole area is covered in a dense, all consuming fog. My senses strain, but there are no sounds, no visibility and nobody around.
I look at the forest of plantation wood before me that will soon be demolished, and as I peer through the mire, the tree's have this majesty about them, beckoning for me to make a photograph of them, alive, a record of their existence. Their tall, straight bodies joined together only by the fog.
I make my image, tilting the camera up as the shutter button clicks, it's the only sound for miles.
Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) involves the movement of the camera at a specific speed and/or direction during the operation of the shutter, resulting in a blurred image that still contains detail and a story of what it is about, and what it contains.
