My ‘CryptoMemes’ series are works specifically referential to the personalities of, and events happening in, the Crypto/Art NFT space; relative commentary on that culture.
In Feb 2022 couple Ilya ‘Dutch’ Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan were arrested for allegedly perpetrating one of the biggest currency laundering schemes in history, involving billions of dollars worth of Bitcoin stolen in the Bitfinex exchange hack of 2016.
Truth was stranger than fiction though. Morgan, a renaissance woman in her own New York lunchtime, whose resume included dozens of articles for Forbes as a tech expert and entrepreneur, had an alter ego. ‘Razzlekhan’ is a terrible rapper with an incomprehensible persona and a complete dearth of style who dubs herself ‘The Crocodile of Wall Street.’
Popular Youtube psych Dr. Todd Grande put it aptly when he said Morgan “...does not seem to have much insight into how other people perceive her.”
My take was a rendering of what I consider the ugliest footwear to exist, the Croc, as refashioned by Balenciaga into a high heeled women’s shoe. Plastered over it are puns on fashion, criminal law and/or incarceration. If the SHU fits, as they say.
