Did you know I was made of gold?
Precious and priceless, able to fit any mould.
I dazzle and shine in whatever I do.
It can’t be helped when one is filled with dreams to make true.
Alarmingly, there are dangers to having such charm…
To be in view of wicked beings with false strength when causing harm.
One appeared on my path to success,
Disguised as a sensitive knight when it sought to possess.
It’s fragile pride is easily broken,
When I remain firm in refusing it’s token.
Unable to accept one unpleasant moment of life,
It falls into tantrum, and out comes the knife.
“To damage is to devalue”, a satisfying thought.
“Everyone knows flawed goods are the last to be bought”.
But I will not be dulled by an unfortunate knight.
I remain dazzling, shining under every light.
Scarred but soft, bent but bold.
Who could ever break what is made of solid gold?
(Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi)
