Here in Oregon we have one of the most picturesque mountains anywhere. It's hard to beat Mt. Hood for pointy peak goodness.
On the North side of the mountain is a small lake-side resort called Lost Lake, one of Oregon's most popular destinations in the summer months for hiking, canoeing, and kayaking.
By night it's remarkably quiet and peaceful out under the stars with an iconic view of the mountain above the lake that just happens to line up with the Milkyway core in the early months of summer.
