Let me paint you a picture,
Of a girl
Who had a little too much to understand
For years she felt dirty, empty & used
Thinking she wouldn’t make it out alive
But learned an important skill
It was how to survive with scars
She was shown a side of life
That a kid shouldn’t see
They committed the crime
“You’re so cute “
“You’re so pretty..”
Her heart was a four-ton rock in his fist
That kept her drowned
Where he wanted her to be
If only someone would have
listened to the screams
Maybe she could have stopped it all
And be able to stand tall
The limbs of her body screeching
away from his whispers
Pressed against the ribcage
Kept her soul imprisoned
Singing into the ashes, lungs raw
Abandoned by family, feeling alone
But enough is enough
From tonight she will stay tough
Stand up for her younger self
They can no longer hurt her
She deserves to take her life back
The guilt, pain, and shame
was never hers
She is no longer a victim
She made it out alive!
She is fierce
She is strong
She is a survivor!
