David Bowie (1947 - 2016) is considered one of the greatest and most prolific musical icons of the Twentieth Century with a career as a singer, song writer and actor that spanned over 50 years.
A true entertainer with Art/design school training in his background, he consistently experimented with his work and his image.
He reinvented himself continually over the decades and presented a wildly varied range of fully formed personas in dramatic phases such as the flamboyant Aladdin Sane, Ziggy Stardust or Scary Monster; the pared back and austere Thin White Duke period or the conservatively dapper wide boy look of the ‘Let’s Dance’ pop period.
An individual of seemingly endless creative ideas, I’ve showcased some of them here in one portrait.
