Hey, skinny bones, summer heat got your cranium creaking? Cool down with a refreshing Mint Ghoulips:
MINT GHOULIPS
Two skulls. One chilling finish.
Ingredients — serves 1
45 ml KAH Añejo tequila (1½ oz)
15 ml Crystal Head vodka (½ oz )
10 ml simple syrup, made with equal parts sugar and water
8–10 fresh mint leaves, plus a generous sprig for garnish
Crushed ice, enough to pack the glass and build a dome
Method
Wake the mint. Add the mint leaves and syrup to a julep tin or rocks glass. Press gently with a muddler to release the oils without shredding the leaves.
Summon the spirits. Pour in the KAH Añejo and Crystal Head vodka.
Bring the chill. Fill with crushed ice and stir until thoroughly cold and the outside of the tin frosts.
Raise the mound. Taste and add up to another 5 ml syrup if you prefer it sweeter. Pack with more crushed ice, forming a dome.
Finish with mint. Slap the mint sprig lightly against your palm and nestle it beside a short straw, so its aroma reaches you with every sip.
