What sets us apart,
the distance that defines us,
the wound we do not share,
the weight that is not ours to bear.
Paths that never converge
until someone stops,
looks to the side,
and recognizes in the other
an absence that also belongs to them.
And then,
what once kept us apart
ceases to be a border.
…for a moment,
we no longer need to be the same
to return.
