Personal identity is the concept of self that develops and evolves over time. In philosophy, the problem of personal identity is concerned with how someone can identify a single person over a time interval, dealing with a question "What makes it true that a person at one time is the same thing as a person at another time?"
How do we know that we are the same person we were as a child? Is it because we remember ourselves growing within the same body we have now? Or is it because we perceive that we have the same mind?
The Ship of Theseus problem illustrates, even for inanimate objects there are difficulties in determining whether one physical body at one time is the same thing as a physical body at another time. With humans, over time our bodies age and grow, losing and gaining matter, and over-sufficient years will not consist of most of the matter they once consisted of. It is thus problematic to ground the persistence of personal identity over time in the continuous existence of our bodies.
When we ask ourselves how we know that we are the same person as we were as a baby, this is a question of persistence. In this context, persistence means our existence across time and how we can prove it. In other words, we perceive that our self “persists” through our life as the same human being, but how do we know for sure? The philosophers Plato and René Descartes, as well as many religions, have proposed that we persist because we have a soul, a timeless essence that continues in some form even after the death of our living, breathing human body.

These accolades, along with several Photographer of the Year titles, serve as reminders of the incredible support and encouragement I’ve received from the artistic community.
I consider myself not just a photographer, but a visual storyteller and fine artist, adept at turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
