Back in 1970, Citroën launched the“SM” car. This model was a luxury sport coupe with a futuristic design. This was not the only originality of this car, indeed the French carmaker mounted a V6 Maserati by default, making a great mix between the Italian and French expertise.
One year later, Heuliez reimagined the SM in a more advanced, more futuristic and more luxurious form. Presented as a concept to Citroën, it unfortunately never made the cut and was stopped before going to production. If you have never had a look at this SM Espace, you should definitely check it out. It is a true masterpiece with lots of incredible details for the 70s, to me, a real symbol of the French savoir-faire.
