Sometimes you have to get deconstructed in order to build yourself up to who you need to be. The path to being the woman my 7-year-old self needed hasn’t been easy. It’s felt like a train going off the track as the default setting. It’s felt like everything that could go wrong would go wrong— and boy did it go wrong. Then, suddenly, the lessons of stoicism became clear as day. It was my opinion of the process that was obstructing my growth. All I had to do was shift my vision. It suddenly became clear that both the high and low moments were educational. There is nothing more empowering than being equipped with knowledge.
