This work by ModernVintagePhotos was made for part of the LostShoots Project. It is a posthumous collaboration with Donald Silverstein, Jimi Hendrix and ModernVintagePhotos. MVP chose to style the image to give homage to peace, love, creativity, music, photography, film, the negative, the print and 1967's Summer of Love.
Shot on 6.5" x 8.5" large format film, the film was scanned out to the border of the film sheet to honour the negative itself as a collaborative actor (as in the scan of the original portrait). The scan is a very high resolution 10493x13690 (140mp) possible only with large format film.
The NFT also entitles the original collector to a 1/1 hand printed, museum quality, platinum print, signed, numbered and stamped with MVP Studio on the reverse.
The photograph used to create this artwork was originally curated and commissioned by LostShoots as part of ‘Frame 69’ - a collaborative NFT project with multiple artists.
The same single frame (film negative #69) from the 1967 shoot between photographer Donald Silverstein & musician Jimi Hendrix has been licensed to each artist taking part, with kind permission of the Silverstein Family Estate.
Each artwork within ‘Frame 69’ is a new 1/1 artwork, minted on the artists own smart contract, and curated by Lost Shoots / Matt Humphrey.
