Between Sirens and Silence was created gradually over the course of a month during a period of military conflict in my country. The drawing was interrupted repeatedly—sometimes for hours, sometimes for days—without any certainty that there would be another chance to continue.
Rather than depicting war itself, the work became a temporary shelter. Its fragmented composition reflects the condition in which it was made: suspended between fear and routine, movement and stillness, survival and imagination. The figures inhabit neither a stable landscape nor a resolved narrative, because neither existed while the drawing was unfolding.
I resisted the urge to impose order afterward. Instead, I allowed uncertainty to remain visible—not as a flaw, but as part of the work's structure.
This piece is less about conflict than about the fragile act of continuing to create while certainty disappears.
