The mythical mountain Swargarohini stands tall, it's Peak hidden in the clouds with the Supin River flowing in the foreground. As seen from Har Ki Dun-The Valley of Gods. In the Mahabharata, Swargarohini is the mythical stairway taken by the Pandavas & Draupadi. Following the departure of Lord Krishna & the onset of Kali Yuga, the Pandavas renounced their Kingdom & crowned their grandson Parikshit as their heir. Then the Pandavas along with their wife Draupadi began their pilgrimage northwards into the High Himalayas, joined by a Stray Dog, seeking to enter Heaven in their mortal bodies. According to the epic, Draupadi & each brother collapsed & died one-by-one as a consequence of a specific flaw or attachment they held in life. Draupadi: Fell first due to her partiality and deep attachment to Arjuna. Sahadeva: Died because of his pride and arrogance regarding his wisdom. Nakula: Died because of his vanity and excessive pride in his physical appearance. Arjuna: Perished due to his pride in his archery and boastfulness. Bhima: Fell last due to his gluttony and pride in his unmatched physical strength. Only Yudhishthira, the eldest and most righteous of the brothers (also known as Dharmaraja), reached the end of the journey. Accompanied only by the dog (who was revealed to be Lord Yama, the god of Dharma, in disguise), Yudhishthira reached the peak where a divine chariot appeared to take him to the heavens.
