Scenes on landforms, lakes and rivers often represent other forms of natures art studio, and Sunrise Crest is exactly that, the representation of the crest of a wave from land and water..
Being out for the afternoon to explore a local area with a well renowned, skilled photographic artist who captures huge ocean wave forms was an amazing in real life experience. Both of us were out looking for those amazing shapes and colours of salt lakes that come once in a while, and change with weather and time. It was during one of these flights that this scene appeared on the screen.
Despite a low battery warning there was just enough time to take in the view, carefully compose the scene and capture it before heading back on battery fumes to the safety of our launch and landing zone.
The colours of the lakes change with the level of the water, it's salinity and the algae levels. The colour in this lake at this time lending itself directly to the name Sunrise Crest.
