A few centuries ago, life was plain and flat, much like the Earth in the mind of a conspiracy theorist: you worked - you earned money; you got hurt - you bled; you saw something with your own eyes - it meant it was real. But life in the 21st century is an LSD fever dream, a desert mirage, an illusion you can feel in your bones yet never prove to be fake.
The toxic cocktail of AI, media manipulation, psyops, and green screens has stripped away the very notion of reality. You still bleed if you cut yourself, but if someone beside you is covered in blood, there's no guarantee it isn't a delusion.
We watch this hyper-chaotic world scroll by on our tiny screens, headlines refreshing every millisecond, but does any of it actually exist? We constantly second-guess words, motives, and the very ground we stand on.
My mind keeps returning to two films that reshaped my perception: Inception and The Matrix. The longer this goes on, the more I suspect we’ve been lying in coma pods for a very long time, watching a endless simulation of a world we never actually knew. A dream you long to wake up from, yet dread waking up to. Because what if there is nothing left out there? What if we obliterated the real world long ago with our wars, our grief, and our relentless cruelty?
Have you ever questioned just how real our reality is? And if you asked... would you truly want to know the answer?
