A photograph taken in the streets of Bogotá, the first piece in this series to include human figures within its composition. I captured a moment in essence, an elderly woman walking beside a homeless man who, in that instant, was inhaling glue. What struck me was the contrast between two different paths of life, one carrying the weight of many years lived, the other reflecting a deep sense of loss and disconnection. Despite their age difference, there was something profoundly human in the way both realities crossed for only a brief moment. The second image was taken in the Las Moyas mountains in Bogotá. One of my favorite things in life is hiking, connecting with nature has always been one of the ways I reconnect with God and with myself. The contrast between nature, plants, and the black-and-white clouds is something I deeply enjoy observing after capturing a photograph. Both images speak from very different emotional spaces, one grounded in the complexity of urban reality, the other in the stillness of nature and spiritual connection. Somewhere between them, a quiet reflection emerges, the art of living is also about learning how to witness life honestly, with empathy, presence, and awareness of both its beauty and its fragility.
