Endless Spirit

As with much of my work, this homage to Brâncuși is a journey back to source. I lensed it on the African continent, from where I know he drew deep inspiration. My piece is in direct conversation with the Endless Column. Framed in a landscape of life and loss, it explores themes at the heart of his practice; verticality, spiritual passage, and what endures when everything unnecessary falls away. Where his column reaches upward and dissolves into the sky, mine holds the same line but asks what it means to be rooted. Stripped palms stand, still. Point upward, still. Past the chapter of living, now messengers between the now, the past, and what's to come. the seeking find solace here, still. Forever in awe of the way art and forms enable us to have conversations across generations and cultures.
