Sourdough bread sculpture on wooden pedestal. I baked this fresh specifically for the HOMAGE open call honoring Constantin Brâncuși. Using simple ingredients of flour, water, salt, sugar and starter, the dough was allowed to ferment slowly before I shaped it into a smooth, ovoid form with subtle lines suggesting eyes, nose, and a serene face. This draws directly from Brâncuși’s approach of minimalism and fidelity to the material.I shaped it to echo Brâncuși’s clean, essential forms. The sourdough rises naturally and bakes into this quiet, contemplative head. The bread was eaten shortly after it was photographed and 3D scanned. Exhibited in HOMAGE Brancusi (2026), Teatrul Național Marin Sorescu, Craiova, Romania.
