The title comes from a moment when emotion stops moving, not because it has disappeared, but because it has become too heavy to flow.
A tide is meant to rise and fall, to carry feeling in and out, to breathe. But here, that natural rhythm is interrupted. The motion is suspended. What should be fluid becomes still—held in place somewhere between release and restraint.
The blue carries that weight. It feels deep, quiet, and endless, like something that has gone inward instead of outward. The surface looks calm, almost peaceful, but underneath there is pressure—unspoken, unresolved, waiting.
“Frozen” does not mean empty.
It means preserved.
It means something is still there, just paused in time.
This work reflects a state where feeling hasn’t vanished, but has been held back—protected, contained, maybe even numbed. A moment where the heart chooses stillness over overflow.
The tide will move again.
But for now, it rests in silence.
