The Portrait of the Artist is an allegory of my inner world, where emotion and reason, cosmos
and time intertwine into a single pulse of inspiration.
The artist is a mediator between time and space, between life and art.
One half of the face represents living consciousness looking forward; the other — a skull with a
burning candle inside — reflects the constant inner work of imagination and creation. The candle
symbolizes the artist’s very life: doubts, emotions, and the power of feeling that, through art,
transform into light.
The staircase represents the artist’s path — an endless process of growth and discovery — while
the radiating beams symbolize enlightenment, the explosion of thought and energy.
The ancient clock on the forehead of the skull reminds us that art is always born of time: I live in
my own era, yet I remember the past and look toward the future.
