self-portrait, photography,2025.
A person must dream, or the soul goes to sleep,
While the world spins on, promises shallow and cheap.
For the feet know the path, but the heart knows the star,
And the distance between is what shows who we are.
A person must dream, must imagine a shore
Beyond the horizon, a new, unseen door.
For the hands build the wall, but the vision comes first,
To quench an invisible, sacred, deep thirst.
A person must dream, must let folly and flight
Disrupt the clean order, the black and the white.
For the "sensible" road is well-trodden and plain,
But the dream is the seed of the coming new rain.
A person must dream, or the spirit will tire,
Caged by the wires of practical wire.
For the dream is the compass, the map, and the key,
To a world that is waiting, yet to be.
So let them call foolish, let them call it a crime,
This alchemy turning mere moments to rhyme.
For a person must dream - it's the one, silent art
Of building a universe inside their own heart.
