Flowers [Purple] I Material Translation: Flower Study (Triptych) - Part I The first panel of a three-part investigation documenting how a single flower composition transforms through computational processing across the color temperature spectrum. Part I investigates color temperature tension—warm yellow against cool purple, creating opposition under system stress. The fragmented structures navigate this conflict, revealing how digital translation mechanisms handle opposing values within the same composition. The moderate glitch banding documents the processing of these extremes, while the cellular fragmentation creates painterly depth through layered color mixing. Using flowers as test subjects—this work examines whether digital processes can achieve genuine material properties equivalent to traditional impasto, color mixing, and atmospheric depth. For centuries, artists used flowers to work out fundamental technical problems about their medium. Part of Material Translation: Flower Study (Triptych) Companion to Parts II and III. The collector acquiring the complete triptych receives a fourth work upon completion of acquisition. 1080px x 1080px 24.9MB GIF 2025
