The second digital artwork created by Chris Bigalke (aka pre-Showdeer) Bramble Radio (2007) Digital collage / Photoshop Bramble Radio was a podcasting radio station polar bear birthed in 2007 broadcasting radio waves from somewhere in Portland, Oregon. It graced this great land until we lost communication with it in 2013. The second art project founded by Chris Bigalke (aka pre-Showdeer) was created in 2007 a year before launching his second art project record label "Borrowdeer" and then current art project and moniker "Showdeer" thereafter both in 2008. Bramble Radio was a weekly live-streaming radio show and podcast mostly playing and broadcasting independent and experimental obscure indie-rock, noise, and shoegaze music focusing on music made in Portland, Oregon 6pm-8pm pacific and 9pm-11pm eastern on Tuesday evenings. It streamed online via itunes rss feed and then later brought on to freeform non-commercial Radio23 International Broadcasting at Freeform Portland created by programming director Jeffery Simmons where it streamed on Radio23.org and was broadcasted on FM all over Portland, Oregon. A few years later Chris brought in his remote friends and fans of the podcast Myron A. Ford and Allen Jason Augustine from Albuquerque, New Mexico to DJ as well and then eventually take over the show. They broadcasted from both New Mexico and Brooklyn, New York City respectively with CCR (Cascade Community Radio) so Chris could focus on making art and booking live bands as Showdeer. Chris DJ'ed as DJ Bramble from 2007-2011 creating sixty podcast radio show episodes. Myron and Allen continued to run and broadcast the show until it ended in 2013. Radio23 also then disbanded in 2015. - - - “Skinsmags in the brambles, for the first part of my life I thought women had orange skin." - Bill Callahan aka Smog from "Drinking At The Dam" (2005) "I am a podcasting radio station polar bear, transmitting music from brambles in Portland, Oregon, Cascadia. Channeling independent artists flowing in the undercurrent and time-honored music. All the while having a chief focus on the grandness of music made here in Portland."
