Self-portrait, photography 2025
It began with the photograph's silence—a precise, yet breathless, cast of reality. Then I called upon the watercolor. The yellow, not merely pigment but condensed light, spilled onto the paper, turning flesh into transparency and the background into a radiance.
And then, from the depths of this liquid sun, butterflies began to be born upon my back. They emerged not as a pattern, but as a quiet choreography of liberated thoughts. Each one—a tremulous hieroglyph, a fragment of a soul that had grown wings.
This self-portrait is not a mirror's reflection, but a revelation. A map of an internal landscape, where reality dissolves, yielding to a truth painted with water and light. The photograph captured a moment, but the watercolor gifted it eternity.
