"Will" is the force that radiates through the body, and it comes in the wake of a moment of absolute silence, of pure terror, or of endless sorrow never from moments of joy. For joy is so fleeting that it disrupts the concentration a warrior needs in order to harness the body’s radiance and transform it into silence. For a human being, sorrow holds as much power as terror. Sorrow may drive a warrior to weep blood. Both can bring forth the moment of silence. Or silence may arise on its own; for a warrior seeks it throughout his entire life. This silence is a darkness, a sacred void a silence deeper than the hush of the inner dialogue. From this darkness, from this silence, "Intent" is born to guide the second sight, to command it, to set it into motion. And thus it is known as Will.
