"This one-of-one portrait of Abigail Johnson began as a spark of inspiration when I learned she would speak at Boston Blockchain 2025. I wanted to honor someone who has done so much to bring crypto into the mainstream and to show my appreciation for the way she’s guided Fidelity into the blockchain era. The creative journey was as layered as the final piece. I started with deep research—hours of conversation with ChatGPT to explore Abby’s life, interests, and character. From there I built a custom LoRA model trained only on open-license images to capture her likeness. That became the seed for over ten more hours of digital painting and Photoshop work, where I hand-shaped every detail: Boston’s skyline, Nantucket’s Brant Point Lighthouse, a snowy foreground nodding to her love of skiing, and constellation-like blockchain patterns woven into the night sky. As in all my work, I included a touch of my late father’s art in the textures, so his creative spirit is present in every layer. I was honored to give this portrait to Abby in person at Boston Blockchain. Meeting her, even briefly, was inspiring—she was warm, gracious, and humble. She told me no one had ever done anything like this for her before and seemed genuinely moved and almost speechless. That moment will stay with me.
