Walk With Me

A thousand small suns turning the valley into a palace of gold. To the fathers, powerful, imperfect, humans we met in that field beyond what's right and wrong, You opened your palms, I poured out my storms. What remained was a silence that we understood. The day I bowed to the sky within, the horizon moved closer. A drop remembered it was ocean, and my fear forgot its name. Family is the fire we tend on the road, those we choose, those who choose us, faces bright as dawn around one flame. I honour you not for the spotless robe, but for the dust of the journey on your feet, for meeting me on the bridge with pockets turned out, offering what could be given, releasing what could not. So I come as a leaf to the wind, to listen, to be hollow enough for a song, to show up with acceptance for the ones I was born to, and the ones who I am becoming, quiet and certain as yes.
