SHE SAT WITH IT ANYWAY

This painting is part of my Scrapyard Series - a body of work about quiet resilience, emotional clutter, imposter syndrome and finding unexpected beauty in places we often neglect.
She sits in a field that has grown wild; a reflection of the tangled, uncertain landscape that we sometimes find ourselves in. The flowers are unruly, the colors conflicting, yet she stays, she doesn't pose, she doesn't run. She simply sits with it all. Her stillness is not surrender, but defiance.
The cat curled on her lap is comfort, the one in the distance is the freedom she isn't ready to chase yet.
This painting is about the in-between; The messy middle space where you're not fully healed but you are no longer hiding. It's for the days when showing up and being gentle with yourself is the bravest thing you do.
I call it "She Sat With It Anyway" because sometimes, just staying present in the chaos is the most powerful thing we can do.
