Referring to a very vivid dream, in which I travelled through a portal and found myself in the little town of Lac-Mégantic (a place I only visited twice) covered in ashes, empty, destructed and abandoned. Without knowing why, it had touched me in a deep way, I woke up crying. I was shook and wrote down what I remembered.
Three years later, on July 6, 2013 this little town was the stage of a tragedy when a freight train of 72 tank cars filled with crude oil, rolled downhill towards Lac-Mégantic, derailed and exploded, resulting in a massive fire and the destruction of much of the downtown core.
The explosion and fire resulted in the deaths of 47 people and the destruction of 30 buildings. The environmental impact was also significant, as approximately 5.6 million liters of crude oil spilled into the surrounding area and the nearby Chaudière River.
Still I wonder if this "portal" was a dream or an experience of another realm.
