"Hunter's Supermoon" By Oty
The brightest and largest full moon of the year occurred on the 17th of October. Appearing 14% larger and 30% brighter than a typical full moon due to it being in perigee - the moon's closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit.
The name 'Hunter's Moon' originates from traditional farming and hunting practices, marking a time when hunters used the moon's light to track and hunt in preparation for the colder months.
The project was captured using a telescope and a dedicated astronomy camera. The process involved dividing the moon into over 30 panels with each section recorded to capture greater details, these panels were then stitched together to create the complete moon. In total 300GB of data including 60,000 individual frames of the moon were captured to create this composition.
The collector will also receive a high quality physical print
