Inspired by the work of influential Cuban painter Amelia Peláez, the artist practiced drawing a variety of fruit, then decided on which she wanted to focus. Warm and cool contrasting temperate colors were used to differentiate the still life from the background, black outlines and decorative details were added, then paint pen was used to add fine patterning.
