Big cities can be lonely places despite being heavily populated. Life is fast paced and can pass you by. Even in the center of a modern metropolis the most basic human emotions remain unanswered. We have advanced technologically but have we developed emotionally?
It had been pouring down in Piccadilly Circus, the floor was soaking wet and looked as if it had been brought to life through the reflections of the famous advertising billboards that line the area. And there stood a lone melancholy looking figure, hood up, waiting, a mysterious silhouette juxtaposed with a huge visible face from one of the ad boards illuminating the ground. It reminded me of the Geisha billboard from the original Blade Runner. As a neo and future noir aficionado, an ode to the iconic monologue from the movie felt fitting; ‘Tears in the Rain’.
