know yourself as the pattern is a 12-piece series of 1/1 animated loops set in a world that’s almost ours. rainy neighborhoods, office hallways, backrooms and long night drives slowly give way to dotlagoon, the pattern citadel, confetthedral, color district, rainyard and finally: infinity. Each loop is built from loops within loops, vertical slats of footage weaving in and out of phase, until the everyday image gives up its textures and reveals itself as pure pattern. across the series, the dots start as small glitches and end up running the place. a crow’s eye turns into a portal, an office exhales into saturday-morning color, a tower appears that nothing in your life prepared you for, and even the rusted barrels eventually surrender to the pattern. the final piece carries the poem: know yourself as the pattern, feel yourself as the instance. these works are meant as visual koans: small, hypnotic worlds you can sit with until they start asking you questions back. 12 works · all 1/1 · animated gif/mp4.
