This ERC721 contract ‘Iconoplasm X Live Trap’ brings together some of Iain Ball’s earliest experimental artworks, created between 2007 - 2009, these 1/1 NFTs represent a curated selection documenting his early exploration of public interventions, object based arrangements, synthetic, bodily, and organic substances (e.g. semen, prozac, pain killers, toilet cleaner, food colouring, dead slow worms, alcohol). In these works, Ball explores themes of intense emotional turmoil, anxiety, alienation, heartbreak, crisis, confusion, consumer detritus, household products, disorder and chaos, and the collapse of art, life, meaning, documentation, and capitalism, through the repurposing of objects, time, waste, and energy, into new forms of production and context. Canonical works include Oxide13, where Ball repeatedly drove a 130 mile round trip to a motorway service station, tethering the performance to a series of jars containing tequila and octopi, and Those Men In Fruit / A SILENT Tremble, 2009, where he payed five men to sit in silence in a hired out conference room for two hours wearing 3D glasses.
