This is a video documentation/re-enactment of the live component of Iain Ball's 2008 project, Oxide13, recorded in 2009. The original Oxide13 process was undertaken alone on multiple occasions in 2008, where Ball would drive from Oxford to Michealwood services on the M5, usually have a small bar of Green & Blacks Maya Gold dark chocolate and a peppermint tea, before driving home. He would then place a receipt from the service station purchase in an empty plastic jar, alongside another jar containing a baby octopus (dead; sold as food from an Asian supermarket), tequila, and green food colouring. This continued throughout the process until six jars contained octopi, six contained service station receipts, and one contained nothing. The jars were placed inside the Richard Hamilton Building, Oxford Brookes University, on top of a cabinet for submitting module coursework.
This NFT archives the 2009 documentary video as a single 1/1 edition. Documentation images of the physical component of this project are also available as part of the Iconoplasm X Live Trap contract and can be collected separately.
