Sleep & Dreams - Trilogy
You know, that wonderful moment when you’re finally supposed to forget everything that worried you during the day...
...and instead your brain decides that 2:47 a.m. is the perfect time to remind you about that embarrassing thing you did in 2014.
Very useful.
We go to bed carrying thoughts, worries, things still left to do, and approximately 47 things we had absolutely no intention of thinking about at that particular moment.
Then we close our eyes and expect the brain to switch off politely.
Cute.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes we dream.
Sometimes we have nightmares.
Sometimes we wake up because, apparently, our subconscious had something urgent to communicate.
And sometimes we can't even fall asleep.
So yeah, sleep isn't always the peaceful little escape we imagine it will be.
And maybe that's exactly what makes dreams so interesting.
Because once you're there, things don't really need to make sense anymore.
A sheep can float through the clouds.
A fish can swim through the sky.
A child can fall asleep over a book and, a moment later, find themselves somewhere completely absurd.
And nobody asks for an explanation.
Well... nobody except us adults.
We have this strange habit of wanting everything to add up.
Even our dreams.
Especially our dreams.
So I decided to do the opposite.
I decided to create something that didn't need to make sense.
Something playful.
Something tender.
Something a little absurd.
And, hopefully, something that makes you smile.
That's how Sleep & Dreams Trilogy came to life.
The trilogy unfolds across three Acts, each capturing a different moment between sleep, play, and dreams.
Act I — Eventually Crash
...
Act II — Suddenly Play
...
Act III — Somehow Asleep
BUT WHY DID I CREATE ALL THIS?
Because maybe we don't always need another answer.
Sometimes we need something completely useless.
Something that doesn't solve anything.
Something that simply makes us smile.
Something that lets the adult in us switch off for five minutes.
And lets the child inside us out for a little while.
Let the adult sleep. Let the child play.
Not because childhood was perfect.
Not because everyone grew up having beautiful dreams.
And certainly not because dreams are always sweet.
Some dreams are strange.
Some are beautiful.
Some are scary.
And some are simply nonsense.
And maybe that's okay too.
Because sometimes we just need to let the child inside us out and let our dreams tickle us, make us smile, and help us rediscover a lightness we once forgot... or perhaps never knew.
At least for a little while.
