The collection “Index 07–20” was created based on my abstract, textural works from my graphic design studies. In the creative process, I used verbal collaboration with AI, describing to it the places and moments that left an imprint in my memory. I did not use reference photos or visual memories, only words. My goal was to capture the character of those places and memories as precisely as possible, their atmosphere, mood, and nostalgia, so that the AI, using my earlier textural works, could create generative collages that serve as indexes of my memory. The places and memories were meant to reflect the essence of those moments rather than their literal appearance. And that was the reason why I chose the verbal type of collaboration with AI here, as it allowed me to recreate the character and atmosphere of a place rather than its direct image.
The idea for the collection title “Index 07–20” emerged from the combination of emotional memories, experiences, and abstract works, forming a kind of archive of the earlier years of my life up to my twenties.
Even though these memories come from my personal surroundings, each of us carries our own small archives of memory that can evoke similar moods and nostalgia as these works. They can be moments of leaving home, favorite places, fragments of daily life, or fleeting instances that stay with us forever. These private, subjective spaces of memory become universal in their perception, and their atmosphere can resonate with the experiences of others, even though everyone sees them through their own perspective.
