The idea of Nyan Balloon actually began back in October 2011. I was crafting a backstory for Nyan Cat, where a normal cat gets tangled up in a balloon and flies off into space, where space radiation turns it into Nyan Cat, however I shelved the idea because I ultimately wanted people to make up their own minds on how things came to be. The video was posted on October 25, 2011: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In1IKpcviIc Eventually, the idea was forgotten... ...In early 2023 I found the original artwork on my old computer and decided to put it up as an open edition. In 7 hours it minted 21,200 Nyan Balloons! As luck had it, the concept of burn to redeem launched the very day all of this happened, so I quickly sprung into action to create my own sky map. Nyan Balloon has been featured in several Web3 token link games and has spawned hundreds of derivatives and burn collections based on this simple sky map template.
